It's done!

I finally got my garage all dry walled and ready for the cold winter. Yesterday morning my brother-in-law, his best friend and I ran the last course on the ceiling. While we were doing this, I ran the new heater. When we started, it was about 50 degrees in there and less than 30 minutes it got up to a balmy 72 degrees at which point I shut off the heat as we were getting rather warm. That temp settled in and hung around for almost two more hours before I noticed even the slightest chill in the garage. Needless to say, I'm pretty happy.

I have some photos, but I forgot to load them onto my flash drive and bring them to upload. I'll post them late tonight or tomorrow.

Almost done!

After working on the garage last Sunday and last Wednesday, we got the garage to the point where all I had left to do was dry wall the two front corners and between the doors along with one 40" wide strip along the right side of the ceiling; of which I can't do alone.

This weekend I finished the two corners and between the doors. I also hung the lights back up and what a difference! So now I have to get a new workbench assembled because I removed the old one. the new one will have a lower shelf and a shelf above the bench top along with its own light fixture. I'll hopefully be working on the bench this week a couple nights.

I'll have some photos to post by this weekend.

One more day!!!

Tomorrow is the day. So far, I have about six people volunteering to show up to help out. Jen and I were discussing the food options and we decided to go with a big crock pot of her chili. And she's already got some cookie dough in the fridge!!!

So if you're planning on coming out, plan on 10AM. That's when most if not everyone is planing on being there.

Still on for the Dry Wall gig

Quick update!

My son Josh came over yesterday morning and he and I hung the insulation on the one wall, so that's done. After he left, I put up four 94" long bats into the rafters; which was enough to make me realize this is definitely a two-person job.

So, this Sunday we're going to tackle the rest of the insulation and the dry wall. If I get the chance to make another solo attempt at the ceiling insulation, I will. If anyone wants to drop by on Saturday to help, the invite is there. Otherwise, I'll see you Sunday!!!
